Our Mission
Horizon is committed to being a presence in our neighborhood and community. We do this through service, such as 'adopting' low-income children at Christmas, feeding the homeless, and collecting money and items for people in need.

Local Missions

January 22nd | We will be clearing out the garden & grounds, and building picnic tables.

July 17th-August 7th | We will collect new notebooks, pencils, whiteboard markers, and other school supplies for Cirby's elementary school-aged children.

November 14th-December 5th | Each year we adopt in-need students from Cirby Elementary to celebrate Christmas with. You can choose a child to 'adopt' by purchasing one fun gift and one item of clothing.

March 26th | We will organize a carnival and BBQ for the families supported by Youth for Christ's Sayonara Center in Citrus Heights. Learn more about YFC

April 17th-May 8th | Each year we distribute baby bottles that our congregation fills with spare change (or bills or a check). These funds help Sierra Pregnancy & Health in their work with new moms. Learn more about SPH

May 23rd | We will be preparing dinner, providing entertainment, and spending an evening with guests of the Gathering Inn. Learn more about The Gathering Inn

July 11th-15th | Our VBS is a fun week for our kids, as well as a great neighborhood outreach.

October 20th | We will be packing dried food ingredients to be sent to hungry children around the world. Learn more about FMSC

Global Missions

Our church partners with Amor Ministries to build a house for a family in need in Mexico. For the last 40 years, Amor has been working to keep families together by building homes and other means. They share the grace and love of Jesus by providing security, safety, and stability to families who would otherwise be without.

Rescue African Children, known as REACH, is a registered nonprofit Ugandan organization with the primary purpose of rescuing the orphans, street children, and other disadvantaged young ones from the suffering of poverty and AIDS in Uganda, Africa.  REACH is the bridge between those that provide support, the children, their families, and the church of Jesus Christ.

There are many ways that you can help our efforts to support our friends at REACH and our neighbors in Uganda.

You don’t have to travel across the world to support REACH! There is so much you can do to rescue African Children from right here at home. Here are some other ways you can make a real difference:

  1. Prayer – Pray for REACH, Pastor Fred in Uganda, Omega Church and the children of Omega School. Pray for the missions team here at Horizon as they prep and plan for their trip in 2020. And, pray for God to prepare the hearts of those who are supposed to go on this trip with us.

  2. Sponsor – For $26 per month, REACH is able to provide a child with school fees, books, a uniform, supplies, medical attention, and at least one hot meal per day while at school.

  3. Donate – There are projects that need attention at REACH. Currently, they need a new primary school classroom building.
