Our Mission

Horizon is committed to being a presence in our neighborhood and community. We do this through service, such as 'adopting' low-income children at Christmas, feeding the homeless, and collecting money and items for people in need.

2025 Local Mission Calendar

MARCH

Foster Youth Support Drive | March 2nd - March 23rd

We will partner with a couple of local organizations by having a pajama and hygiene items drive for foster children/teens in our community.

APRIL

Sierra Pregnancy & Health Baby Bottles | April 27th - May 11th

Each year we distribute baby bottles that our congregation fills with spare change (or bills or a check). These funds help Sierra Pregnancy & Health in their work with new moms.

MAY

The Gathering Inn at Valley Springs | May 26th

We will be preparing dinner, providing entertainment, and spending an evening with guests of The Gathering Inn.

JUNE, JULY, & AUGUST

Vacation Bible School

Our VBS is a fun week for our kids, as well as a great neighborhood outreach.

Fireworks Booth

Volunteer at Horizon’s booth which will raise scholarship funds to help send middle and high school students to summer camp.

OCTOBER

Feed My Starving Children

We will be packing dried food ingredients to be sent to hungry children around the world.

NOVEMBER & DECEMBER

Thanksgiving Food Drive

We will be collecting food items to bless lower income families with everything they need to make their Thanksgiving meal.

Angel Tree | Advent Season

Each year we adopt in-need students from Cirby Elementary. You can choose a child to 'adopt' by buying one fun gift and one item of clothing.

Global Missions

Horizon is committed to being a presence in our neighborhood and to our brothers and sisters around the world. We partner with 3 global organizations to share the love of Jesus to all the nations. Click below to learn more about each organization.

AMOR MINISTRIES

Our church partners with Amor Ministries to build a house for a family in need in Mexico. For the last 40 years, Amor has been working to keep families together by building homes and other means. They share the grace and love of Jesus by providing security, safety, and stability to families who would otherwise be without.

Project Jordan

PROJECT JORDAN

Project Jordan is an initiative to create public neighborhood lending libraries in the country Jordan and the broader Middle East. The programs, activities, and the library's book collection serve as ways to connect with the people of Jordan to encourage and enrich their lives.

Project Jordan now owns the facility that it is located in, which will also serve as the home base of future growth. They rely on donations and volunteer staff to continue to provide avenues for education and relationships in the Middle East.

Horizon is involved in the directives of Project Jordan by supporting long term workers and has plans to send short term teams.
